The doors open again.

From April 5 through October 1, 2027, the public can walk through the Salt Lake Temple before it is rededicated. The first release of free tour reservations has filled; more batches are coming.

What to do now

Reservations are being released in batches rather than all at once. There is no separate Temples.org alert list; the reliable source for new releases is Temple Square itself.

    Returned reservations can reappear, and Temple Square will post each new ticket drop there.

    Temple Square offers its own email updates and app notifications. Those are the best way to hear when another batch is released.

    Keep your plans flexible

    The open house runs for nearly six months. If one date is full, later releases may open other days and times.

Plan for the tour

Every tour ticket will be scanned. If you cannot use a reservation, return it through the ticketing system so another visitor can attend. Guests who arrive without a reservation may ask event staff about limited standby availability.

Accessibility and families

Language support, assistive listening, elevator routes, and accommodations for young children are available at every tour time. Dedicated ASL, blind and low-vision, and neurodiverse tours are scheduled from May through September.

Common questions

Are reservations still available?

The first release has filled. Temple Square says additional batches will be released in the coming weeks, and returned reservations may reappear. Check the official ticketing page regularly for the next release.

Do I need a reservation to visit Temple Square?

No. The wider Salt Lake Temple Celebration is open without a reservation. A free reservation is recommended for the Salt Lake Temple open house tour, and limited walk-up availability will be first come, first served.

How many tickets can I reserve?

One individual reservation may include up to six tickets. Parties larger than six should use the group ticketing request form linked from the official ticketing page.

What if my preferred date is unavailable?

Check again for returned tickets and future ticket drops. Visitors without a reservation may ask event staff for a standby ticket when they arrive, but availability is not guaranteed.
